Subscription Boxes:Find the best for you

In recent years subscription boxes have become increasing popular among beauty, hair-care, and skincare brands. Companies such as Birchbox and Ipsy have become household names, with Birchbox having over 800,000 subscribers to date. Being able to test out new products, for a small recurring fee, is exciting and new to beauty lovers everywhere. Personally, I subscribe to both Ipsy and Play by Sephora, which both send me five to six sample and full sized beauty items each month. Both boxes provide me with the ability to try new and old favorites, but each have their own quirks that enable the buyer to choose which subscription is best for them.

Outfit Update: Sweater Obsession

Lately I have been completely obsessed with turtle neck sweaters, so much that I have shamelessly purchased five of them this season (I know it's getting out of hand). One of my favorites is a white over sized Tommy Hilfiger sweater, which seems to match everything!

Christmas in the City

The most magical time of the year is upon us, and what a better place to celebrate than New York City! With this being my first time living in New York during the holiday season, I figured it would be the perfect time to do all the tacky tourist traditions, starting with the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular!

College Fashion Week - New York City

Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to be a Social Media Correspondent at Her Campus' College Fashion Week in New York City. While at the event I documented my entire journey on their Instagram story, and was able to experience the fashion show from VIP seating. If CFW is coming to your city I highly recommend going! In the past I have attended this event in Boston, so it was very cool to be able to experience it in New York City as well.

Since I was covering the show for Her Campus I was able to go backstage and see all the clothing and meet all the vendors before doors opened to the public. Some of the sponsors for the event included Fitbit, Rebecca Minkoff, Drybar Hanes, Bertha Watches, and more. I even got an amazing swag bag filled with items from the sponsors including my own Fitbit Flex 2, which I'm extremely excited about!

Since I knew all 94,000 of Her Campus' followers would be seeing me online, so I had to go out and buy a new outfit! When I walked into H&M, I knew this denim jumper would be perfect. It isn't too formal, but still fashionable. I jumped onto the layer trend by adding my favorite white bodysuit underneath, a nice compliment to the otherwise dark denim. For shoes I added my favorite suede heels, and i had no regrets walking to the venue since they are too cute to be in pain. I also carried a large faux leather backpack to hold all my essentials, such as my camera, extra makeup, and a portable charger. By keeping my look low maintenance I was comfortable all night, and didn't have to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions. The most important part of dressing for a fashion show is keeping it fashionable, but also low-key enough to stay comfortable.

New York is Calling

The next chapter of my life has officially started. I am now officially a student at Pace University in New York and I am loving it! For a while I contemplated whether or not I wanted to stay here in Boston for school, but every once in a while you need a change. A few weeks back I visited the campus for orientation, and also took a train into the city for some sightseeing. I had never been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art before, so I figured that would be a good place to start.

When we got there, I headed directly to the back of the museum, where "Manus x Machina", the costume institute's latest exhibit was housed. I needed to see it before it officially closed. Entering the exhibit I was already overwhelmed, the attention to detail was so beyond perfection. Being able to see some of the gowns I could only dream about was an amazing experience, it's no surprise that the exhibit was extended, since it brought in over 350,000 visitors.

The heat in the city was extreme, so I kept in cool in a light tank top and denim skirt, but soon purchased a new shirt at the museums gift shop and had to change! By putting a casual top with a statement piece like a denim skirt, you can be comfortable and fashionable.

What I'm Wearing:
Yellow Top ($16.99 Forever 21)
Graphic Tee ($38 Metropolitan Museum of Art Shop)
Denim Skirt ($19.99 TJ Maxx)
Sunglasses ($12 Purchased in Austria)

Neoprene Dream

Senior year of high school is full of exciting events, prom being one that everyone looks forward to all year long. This past week, I had my very own prom, and it was every bit of magical as I would have hoped. I started looking for a dress extremely early in the school year, since I knew it would be hard to top my BCBG dress from last years junior prom. I began to fall in love with the fabric neoprene, the fabric that is used to make wet suits and some bathing suits. I had seen one of the contestants on Project Runway Junior use this fabric to make an elegant dress, and I knew I had to have it.

Auf Wiedersehen Europe!

Compared to my last two weeks, my life in America seems extremely boring. As some of you may already know, I just returned from a two week journey throughout Europe. In a very short time I was able to visit five countries, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Each day was a new journey, and way to learn about the world around us. I tasted some of the best deserts I've ever head, stood 7000 feet above the world, and saw some of the greatest art in existence.

Quick Update

As you may have noticed, I haven't been posting as often as I used to. My life has taken a turn on the crazy side! I recently started a new job working for Victoria's Secret (which I adore!), and am in the midst of deciding what college I'll be attending in the fall (eek!). But have no fear, Fashion Daydream is back and ready for action. In a short 16 days I will be on a plane heading to Europe, where I will be visiting 5 countries and blogging from any wifi I can find! I hope that I will be able to keep you all updated on my adventures, since I have many exciting events coming up. In the meantime, I am extremely active on {Instagram} (thank God for smartphones!), so make sure you head over there and toss me a follow.
Goodbye for now!

Sparkle & Shine?

It happens to the best of us, entering the department stores in December we are instantly surrounded by red and green sequins, drawn to the sparkle and shine of the holidays. Then it happens, we buy that shiny red number and suddenly you look like you should be on top of the tree instead of beside it. I love sparkles just as much as the next girl, but Christmas is a time to let the tree shine, instead of your skirt. Here's three questions to ask yourself before committing to the perfect party dress.

Eyebrow Game Strong

I had never given my eyebrows a second thought, every so often I would pluck them myself, but that was all. When Billion Dollar Brows contacted me to test out some of their new products, I figured it would be a good chance to experiment. The results were amazing, it had never occurred to me that changing the shape of my eyebrows would make such a difference.
